A Hierarchical distributed communication architecture for real-time auctions

This paper presents a new hierarchical distributed communication architecture, called AHS (Auction Handling System), based on clusters. This architecture uses the IRC (Internet Relay Chat) channels and protocol facilities in order to support real-time auction applications (RTA). Coordination between distributed auction servers is needed to exchange and update some relevant auction information and to resolve the winning bid within a cluster. The problem is how to determine the best location of the auction server coordinator. For this purpose, we suggest the use of the Floyd-Warshall’s algorithm, which is a graph
